Orphans are those who are not wanted by any one, nor do they belong to any one. They are just themselves in this world without care, protection, security or love. I belonged to this class of urchins, although I had a rich father, who sent me away to a boarding school at Nainital fifteen years ago, and never called me home even during vacations. All these years, I suffered the agonies of being an orphan. Why did he do this to me? I was anxious to find out and probably would have resigned to my fate.
After my final year, I was not supposed to stay in the hostel, but that ruthless man, who was my father, prohibited me from returning home. I disobeyed him and decided to meet him once, and give him a piece of my mind, but to my utter surprise, when I saw him found I him a sick man full of hatred.
I decided to stick around against his wishes, and change him to a normal human being by my love, and care. That is what my dead mother must be expecting of me. I had suffered the agonies of being an orphan and I did not want my father to be an orphan because he needed care and love.
Someday, I hope to win his affection and pray to God to help me achieve it.
MEENA CHOUDHARY.
